CPT. CARL WHITE



CPT. Carl White was born in Conesus, New York on February 2, 1927. On May 3, 1943, Carl joined the U.S. Army in Canandigua, New York. Later, he served in the European Theater in World War II as a machine gunner in the infantry. He also participated in the occupation of Japan with the 1st Calvary Division and the 11th Airborne Division in World War II.


During his military service, Carl served as an enlisted and commissioned officer in Airborne and non-airborne units. As an officer, he served in the Korean War where he was in charge of supplying ammo to the front line soldiers. On the other hand, as a noncommissioned officer, White served as a 1st Sergeant in the Vietnam conflict where he was awarded with the Vietnamese Cross and Gallantry with Bronze Star.

White served more than 30 years in the US Army, and during those years, he received many decorations and awards. He retired from the military in 1975 after being transferred to the retired reserve at the grade of Captain. After White retired, he moved to Sebastian, Florida with his wife Karen. Back in Florida, he decided to take a well deserved break. During his break, he spent most of his time fishing, golfing, and having fun until he stared working again, this time as a civilian.

After White retired, he joined many veterans organizations. Currently, he is a member of the American Legion, VFW, 11th Airborne Division Association, 1st Calvary Division Association, 2nd Infantry Division Association, 145th Aviation Battalion Association, AUSA, and the Space Coast All Airborne Chapter of the 82nd Airborne Division Association where he serve as a treasurer. Carl White is considered one of the most distinguished members in the organizations he belongs to for his excellent military career and his support for his fellow veterans.
