2002
ROTC AWARDS
OT
Every
year our chapter conducts Airborne award presentations through different
ROTC programs in the schools of our communities. Last year, our
chairman, Edgar Britt, and our Vice-chairman Mitchel Rech presented
awards at Vero Beach High School and Fort Pierce High School respectively.
Again, this year, our Vice-chairman presented awards in Port Saint
Lucie and Fort Pierce High School. Similarly, Leonar Catinella,
our Chaplain, presented an award at Vero Beach High School.
Javier
Molinares also presented awards to Airborne qualified cadet Quintin
Doll and cadet Rubio at Florida Institute of Technology. Our chapter
has established a strong relationship with the ROTC commanders at
Florida Tech. In the picture above, our secretary, Javier Molinares,
is presenting an award to Airborne qualified cadet Rubio.
FUNERAL SERVICES

Our
chapter is 100% commited to support the families of those troopers
who made the ultimate jump. Once a paratrooper in our area passes
away, we always make sure that her or she receives the respective
military honors. In the above picture, Rex Clifford, Javier Molinares,
Carl White, and Edgar Britt served as pallbearers at Bill Reilly's
funeral.
DONATIONS

The
Space Coast Chapter is also commited to making donations to those
families in our community that are struggling to making ends meet.
For example, for Christmas 2002, we donated a basket of groceries
to a needy family in Sebastian, Florida. Rex Clifford contacted
the principal of a local elementary school to make the arrangements.
After the school located the family, we donated groceries for the
chosen family. For the 2001 Holiday season, we doubled our donations.
Barbara and Clarence Young located a needy family at Patrick Air
Force Base. Similarly, Rex Clifford contacted a family with seven
children in Fellsmere, Florida. In the picture above, Rex Clifford
and Javier Molinares are making the donation.

In
this picture, Javier Molinares is sorrounded by a family with five
children in Palm Bay, Florida during his donation for Christmas
2001. For 2002, our chapter is working on making more donations
for Thanks Giving and Christmas. |
